The Herald, Rock Hill's local newspaper, wrote an article featured on the front page of the "Local" section about our visit to Central Child Development Center.
Story by Andy Burriss: Four year old kindergarten students at the Central Child Development Center in Rock Hill had a visit from the owners and animals of Green Pond Acres Farm on Friday. Owner Ashley Huffstetler brought animals to Central and gave the children the opportunity to see and learn about them up close. Some of the topics that the students have been learning about at Central include: comparing the daily lives of families today and in the past; how families lived and worked on a farm in the past and in the present; how we use our five senses to learn about the world around us and how the changing of the seasons affect our lives.
"The presentation from Green Pond Acres Farm will enhance the curriculum", school leaders say.
Students will learn about animal care and proper hygiene, safety around animals, life on a farm now vs. life long ago, how animals use their senses and how the seasons affect animals.
